# NuNet

> NuNet is an open-source peer-to-peer protocol for discovering, orchestrating,
> and settling compute across distributed infrastructure. It connects edge
> devices, on-premise servers, data centers, and DePIN networks into a single
> coordinated compute fabric with native multi-chain payments on Cardano and
> Ethereum. NuNet launched live on March 2, 2026.

## About

NuNet was incubated since 2018 and is now an independent protocol. It is
governed by the NuNet Foundation (incorporated in Switzerland) and
commercialized through NuNet Solutions. Co-founders: Dr. Kabir Veitas
(CEO/CTO), Dr. Ben Goertzel, Dr. Weaver D.R. Weinbaum. Team: 15 globally
distributed members, 8 core development engineers.

- NTX token: 1 billion total supply, ~504 million circulating
- 631M NTX-ETH on Ethereum, 368M NTX-ADA on Cardano
- License: Apache 2.0, fully open-source

## Key concepts

- **Autonomous orchestration**: workloads find compute on their own across
  heterogeneous hardware via graph traversal and constraint satisfaction.
- **Hardware-agnostic**: edge devices, GPUs, CPUs, on-premise servers, data centers.
- **Zero-trust security**: the NuActor framework authenticates every message;
  fine-grained capabilities are anchored in decentralized identifiers (DIDs)
  via the UCAN standard.
- **Multi-chain settlement**: peer-to-peer transactions settle natively on
  Cardano and Ethereum using NTX with cryptographically signed contracts.
- **Open-Ended Computing**: the network has no fixed participant list; any
  device can join, declare its constraints, and find matching peers
  automatically without prior registration with a central authority.

- **Smart energy**: HOMEPUTE369 — energy AI agents running in
  European smart housing. Partnership with a billion-euro construction group.
- **Spatial computing and robotics**: Auki Labs / Posemesh — decentralized
  machine perception for robotics, AR, and spatial AI.
- **Data center management**: Serverista — peer-to-peer VM provisioning across
  distributed data center infrastructure.
- **Cardano SPO computing**: Catalyst Fund 7 grant (second-largest in Fund 7)
  for stake-pool-operator compute provisioning. 10 SPOs tested on testnet.
